As a Headless Fatty* I am always suspicious of diet books that crop up in hardcover. Part of this is because, well, I’ve been lectured to for many a year and presume I will be for many more years to come, regardless of what I tell The Professionals (who pointedly ignore what I say anyway). The other part is because the Diet Industry makes a lot of money off the backs of people who are convinced they are morally inferior for not looking perfect (women: big boobs, narrow waist, big hips, long legs. Men: Muscular and tall and hair-free)(and of course no one sweats. EVER.)

Williamson’s new book can be summed up in a sentence: you’re fat because you don’t love yourself. Oh, and you overeat, because apparently that’s how all fat people get fat. Apart from not loving themselves. I think you can probably tell what I think of those ideas so I won’t press on further.

The best I can say about this book is that physically it is very attractive.
